preparing for your senior session

senior sessions
what to wear

pops of color

A pop of color works beautifully against white sand, fields & green spaces and urban settings.

the mini dress

A mini dress in any favorite color is a great addition to your session wardrobe!

the white maxi dress

It's a staple for senior sessions! You can do a top and long skirt or a one piece dress. Consider adding this to the fit!

denim

Adding a denim piece is a great way to include a classic and casual look. A denim skirt pairs great with your favorite top. Jeans are a great option for seated shots so you don't get those dresses sandy or dirty.

2 piece sets

Pair your favorite top and bottoms to create a 2 piece set. Pairing with pants is a great option for seated shots.

college swag

Think pennant flags, t-shirts, banners or anything that makes your college reveal uniquely you.

how to do your own make-up

Doing your own make up for your photoshoot? Remember that the way you do natural look makeup for every day is not the same as camera ready makeup.
Here are 8 tips for doing your own makeup for your senior photo shoot:
apply your makeup in natural light
Applying your makeup in a room that’s full of natural light will give you a really good view of what you’re doing across your whole face, as opposed to using an overhead or table -top light which can cast shadows on parts of your face. This will help you notice any areas where makeup needs to be blended in, and where blemishes may need concealer.
prepare your skin with primer
Using a primer to prepare your skin before you apply your makeup can help give a better finish, and make your makeup last longer. Primer can help to even out skin tone ,minimize pores and help you to apply your makeup smoothly – avoiding any patches or clumps. If you don’t own a primer I recommend visiting Sephora, Ulta or Mac and getting a perfect match for your skin.

use a full coverage foundation
A full coverage foundation will give you a smooth, even finish to your face. Do not use a tinted moisturizer it will not give the proper coverage.
avoid makeups with shimmer
They reflect back towards the camera. Avoid shimmer eye shadows, highlighter and other products that will not give you the natural makeup look you want for natural outdoor photos.

be precise with your lines
If you use eye liner or lip liner you want to make sure your lines are perfect. Bring these liners with you for touch-ups!

use a good mascara that doesn't clump
This doesn’t have to be the most expensive mascara. Select one that glides on smooth.

a little clear lip gloss is your friend
You definitely don’t want dry or dehydrated looking lips in your photos.

practice your makeup before your photoshoot
This way you will know exactly what to expect on shoot day.
